Kids Dig York

Kids Dig York is from the 25th march - 6th April, it is an exciting and educational archaeological program designed specifically for children. Located in the historic city of York in England, this unique initiative allows children to experience the thrill of discovery, while learning about the rich history of the region.

The program offers children the opportunity to participate in an actual archaeological dig. Under the guidance of trained professionals, kids get to excavate real artifacts from different periods of York's history, including the Roman, Viking, and Medieval eras. They learn the necessary techniques for digging, sifting, and cleaning the artifacts, as well as how to document their findings.

The experience is not only hands-on but also highly interactive. Children are encouraged to ask questions and engage in discussions about the historical significance of the objects they uncover. They gain valuable insights into the lives of those who lived in York centuries ago, and how their discoveries contribute to our understanding of the past.

Kids Dig York also offers a range of engaging activities and workshops to supplement the excavation experience. These include storytelling sessions, where children can immerse themselves in captivating tales of York's history, as well as craft workshops where they can recreate ancient artifacts. Furthermore, they can also learn about the science behind archaeological techniques and how modern technology aids in the study of the past.

This archaeological program provides a unique opportunity for children to step back in time and become archaeologists for a day. It fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a sense of appreciation for history. Kids learn not only about the past, but also the importance of preserving and protecting historical sites for future generations.

Kids Dig York is an experience that combines fun, learning, and adventure. It offers an alternative form of education, where children can actively engage with history and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. Whether they have a budding interest in archaeology or just want to have a great time, this program provides an unforgettable experience that will leave a lasting impression.
